Across the major lines, the daily auto-gratuity for a standard stateroom runs from $16 to $22 per guest per day. Suites and higher categories pay more on most lines. A family of four on a 7-night cruise typically pays $450 to $620 in gratuities alone.
Can you remove gratuities on a cruise?
On most lines you can adjust or remove the daily gratuity at Guest Services before you settle your account at the end of the cruise. A few, like MSC, only remove charges if service was unsatisfactory. Prepaid gratuities are generally nonrefundable once the cruise is over.
