Airline Rule Changes

Every fact on Travel Vient is re-verified on a rolling schedule against the airline's own official source. When a value changes, it lands here with the date we detected it and a link to the source we checked it against.

We keep two things separate. A rule change means the airline changed a real-world policy, fee, or allowance. Arecord correction means we fixed our own data to match the official source, which is not the airline changing anything. Corrections are labeled as such and are not counted in the monthly rule-change totals.

Celebrity Cruises celebrity evening chic frequency: from Graduated: one on 4-6 nights, two on 7-9, three on 10-13, four or more on 14+ to One Evening Chic night on shorter cruises, two on longer voyages.

Stored graduated 4-tier structure was outdated. Official Celebrity guidance (celebritycruises.com/blog/what-to-wear-on-a-cruise, Tier 2 render): 'Every seven-night cruise has one Evening Chic night ... longer voyages will have two.' Used the conservative shorter/longer phrasing because Celebrity's FAQ and blog differ on the exact 7-night pivot. Stored what-to-pack sourceUrl 404'd and was repointed to the live blog page; also corrected the evening baseline label from 'resort casual' to 'Smart Casual' per the same source. Princess Cruises princess formal-night frequency: from Graduated: zero on 6 nights or fewer, one on 7-night, two on 10-13, three on 14 to Dress to Impress: one on shorter cruises, two or more on longer voyages.

Princess rebranded formal nights to 'Dress to Impress' and simplified the structure. Official (princess.com/blog/tips-on-what-to-pack-for-a-cruise, Tier 2 render): 'Formal nights - called Dress to Impress - feature once on shorter sailings and two or more times on longer voyages'; 'Shorter cruises typically include one formal night, while longer voyages may include two or more.' The old 'zero formal nights on 6 nights or fewer' claim was retired (contradicted: short cruises now include one). Stored dress-code sourceUrl 404'd and was repointed. A prior run (2026-08-12) FLAGGED this conflict during a baggage pass; now resolved. Cunard cunard gala evening frequency: from 3+ nights at least one; 7-night typically one; 14-night two or three to Voyages of 3 nights or more include at least one Gala Evening (exact count in My Cunard calendar).

De-specified to match the official source. Cunard's what-to-pack page (Tier 2 render) states only 'On voyages of three nights or more, at least one Gala Evening ... These special nights feature an elevated dress code and are entirely optional.' The stored per-length breakdown (7-night one, 14-night two or three) is not published on the official page, so it was removed rather than left stamped as official; the confirmed core plus the four themes (Black and White, Red and Gold, Roaring 20s, Masquerade Ball) are retained. No prose restated the removed specifics (comparison pages describe Gala Evenings by theme and 'scale with length'), so no propagation was needed.
