Frequently asked questions

Will this widget slow down my site?

The widget loads inside a lazy-loaded iframe that totals under 50 KB. It makes no external requests during page load, and optional usage beacons on user interaction are non-blocking, so it will not affect your Core Web Vitals or Lighthouse score.

Can I pre-load a specific destination?

Yes. Every destination has its own embed URL (for example /embed/packing-list/japan/), so you can drop the right list straight into a Japan post. Apps can also switch destinations programmatically by pointing the iframe at the matching slug, which is how travel-planning tools integrate it against a user trip.

Will the packing data stay current?

Yes. The widget pulls from verified packing data across 115 countries and cities. When we update a list, every embedded widget reflects the change automatically, so nothing goes stale in your post.

Can I customize the colors?

Yes. The widget supports light and dark themes, a custom accent color via hex code to match your brand, adjustable corner radius, and a compact mode for sidebar embeds. Use the customizer on this page to configure everything visually.

How does the font work?

The widget uses each reader's own device system font (San Francisco on iPhone and Mac, Roboto on Android, Segoe UI on Windows). It does not pull the font from your site, which is what keeps it fast and loads zero extra font files. It blends into most blogs cleanly.

Do I need to create an account or pay anything?

No. The widget is completely free with no registration, API keys, or usage limits. We log anonymous usage events (widget loads, interactions, embedding domain, country, device class) so we can improve coverage. No cookies, no personal data. Paste the code and it works.
