Port Tampa Bay operates 3 cruise terminals, numbered 2, 3, and 6, all in the Channel District within close proximity of each other. Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Norwegian, Celebrity, and Margaritaville at Sea all sail from here. Browse the ship database to compare specs and cabin sizes across fleets. What to do if your flight is delayed
Call your cruise line’s emergency embarkation number immediately. Most lines will hold boarding or arrange late check-in if you notify them before departure time. Keep your booking confirmation number accessible on your phone. If your delay is severe (landing after 3 PM), ask about joining the ship at the first port of call.
Pro tips
- Fly in the day before. A pre-cruise hotel night eliminates same-day flight stress. Tampa has plenty of hotel options near the airport and in the Channelside district close to the port.
- TPA is fast. Tampa International consistently ranks as one of the most efficient US airports. Baggage claim is quick and the terminal layout is simple. Build less buffer time here than you would at larger Florida airports.
- Pack a carry-on change of clothes. If your checked luggage is delayed, you will have what you need for embarkation day and the first evening on board.
- Do not eat at the airport. The ship’s buffet opens to boarding passengers immediately. Save your money.
- Channelside district. If you arrive early and need to kill time before boarding opens, the Channelside area near the port has restaurants and shops within walking distance.
